Compare and contrast
Overall, Feed was a good book, and I am glad I got the chance to read it. I would definitely recommend this book to a student who has an interest in technology, and the future. Comparing Eleanor and Park to Feed I would definitely say I enjoyed Eleanor and park more because it was more relatable to me. In both book's the mains characters had a breakup, but in Feed Titus was more rude with the breakup. I did not like how Titus just erased Violet from his feed, and completely forget about her. I also found it rude how Titus made it obvious he was losing feelings for her by completely ignoring her feed messages. I liked how in Eleanor and Park they didn't end things because they wanted to but because they knew it was the best thing for Eleanor. Eleanor and Park's break up left me feeling more optimistic about them being together later on in the future. Vs in Feed, I know Titus didn't love Violet the way Park loved Eleanor. In both of the stories, the females were less fortunate than the men. In Feed Violet's family didn't have as much money compared to Titus. Which resulted in Violet not receiving her feed until she was seven. Titus had money to travel to the moon whenever he pleased, unlike Violet her family had to save up their money in order for her to take her first trip to the moon. Eleanor was also less fortunate then Park, Eleanor's situation was a lot worse then Violets because Eleanor family couldn't even afford the basic necessities. In both of the stories the men had their license, and a form of transportation to bring the women to and from.

Feed
I'm starting to like Feed a little more as the book goes on. I do still find it hard to understand the characters lingo at times. Overall I would say the storyline is hard to follow because it just jumps from one thing to another. I find it weird that many of the characters think that cutting them selfs is sexy. I wonder how can doing self-harm be the " it thing". At the start of the story, I was unsure what lesions were until the characters started describing in details. In a way, it seemed like the girls were in competition with each other on who could have the most lesions. Personally, I think the idea of self-harm as a dumb trend, and I am glad this trend is only in the book. Another thing I find strange is that the characters don't listen to music out loud, but will all be listening to the same song on their feed. To me, that is pointless why not just listen to the music out loud if everyone is already listening to the same song. Violet's situation is terrible, I especially feel bad for her since she got a virus the first time she went to the moon. I hate the fact the that Violet is the only character suffering long-term effects of the virus. Personally Violet is my favorite character because she is the only one who is different. I love the fact she was home schooled, she knows how to write with paper, and pen, she isn't completely obsessed with the feed, unlike the other characters. Violet is okay with talking out loud instead always depending on the feed, and she knows how to think outside of the feed. Feed is definitely something that I'm not use to reading but it is starting to grow on me.

First impressions
My first impressions of Feed by M.T. Anderson. I was once again shocked by the swearing within the first few paragraphs of the book. Boom on page three the word shit is already used in the second sentence of the page. Similarly to Eleanor and Park in both of the books I was shocked to see swearing so soon in the book. I guess swearing early on in the book can prepare the reader for what's to come later on. I guess in my mind I am not expecting such language because on the back on Feed it is recommended for ages fourteen and up, I personally don't know any fourteen years old who swear, but then again maybe I'm being optimistic. Another thought I had on Feed was that it had a slow start to the book. With that being said I often found myself getting bored of reading, I was just hoping the book would get more interesting. I think if the author would have given more background of what exactly is going on, in the beginning, I wouldn't have been so bored reading this book. I also found it strange how the characters were talking about things that happened on earth such as college parties, but then the event was happening in outer space. It was interesting to read about high schoolers trying to get into college parties, I remember doing the same thing when I was younger. I also did like how the characters had a lingo, such as my generation. Reading Feed I am definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone. I am hoping I will come to like this book and the more interesting parts are later to come. I also hope that I will later recommend it to my future students or peers.

The moment we all have been waiting for.
Eleanor and Park.
As I wrap up reading Eleanor and Park, I feel a little sad because the story was awesome. The story was fun while it lasted, and I have already recommended it to a few peers. Eleanor and Park was not the typical love story you read about, but yet it was very relatable to many age groups. It was very upsetting to me when Eleanor's gym teacher had no sympathy for her nor her situation. You would think to see a student's clothing jammed in a toilet would be a serious matter, and the teacher would try and help Eleanor. Being a future teacher made my heart reach out to Eleanor, and made me think about how I would have handled the situation. If I were in the gym teacher's situation, I would have looked in the lost and found to give Eleanor another outfit or would have given Eleanor the clothing I had on. Another thing in this book that upset me was when Richie asked Eleanor what she had brought with her money. From my understanding, I thought Eleanor brought the family Christmas dinner, that Richie hated so much. Richie sat in the car while the whole family went inside the store, knowing Eleanor's mom didn't have any money, and he just gave Eleanor the fifty dollars. I did like how Eleanor was sharp on her toes when Richie asked her and she responded a neckless. Now Eleanor would be able to wear the neckless whenever she pleased, and no longer had to hid it since her family thought Eleanor brought it with her Christmas money. I was nice Eleanor and Park finally got the moment they both have been waiting for and got some alone time. I liked how Parks mom allowed Park to stay home alone, and also took him to get his drivers test. Overall Eleanor and Park was a great book, and I could picture myself reading this book with a high school class.

Poor Eleanor
I spent the majority of my weekend reading Eleanor and Park, as the story went on the reader gets more insight on Eleanor's old life before her parent's divorce, and why Eleanor was kicked out in the first place. It was interesting to read how Eleanor's mom and Richie met, YES I expecting their love to be silly, but I was not expecting for Eleanor's mom to fall for him based off of a comment. After find out why Eleanor got kicked out in the first place really allows the reader to get an insight of Richie true character, even though he is portrayed as mean, short tempered, and very controlling. It is very clear to me Richie does possess those qualities after reading he kicked her out because of the noise from the typewriter. I began the hate, Richie, just as much as Eleanor throughout the story, I couldn't STAND the fact he gave Eleanor 50$ for Christmas, and then made her use the money for a Christmas dinner. It honestly irritated me I was hoping Eleanor would use that money to buy her something nice, and to make matters worse Richie then acted a complete fool on Christmas by throwing the pudding and disrespecting Eleanor's mother. Another thing that irritates me about this story is Eleanor's attitude, in a way it almost seems like she enjoys being miserable, and can't never he happy. I wish she would stop always catching an attitude with Park and just enjoy the positivity he's trying to bring into her life. I am hoping Eleanor woe is me mentality will change sometime soon. So I can go back to enjoying her character. I do feel bad for Eleanor because she had many trials and tribulations in her life but her funky attitude is not making matters better.

Eleanor and Park
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell is a novel about two sixteen year olds who took a chance on love. The main characters in the novel are big redhead Eleanor and a Asian Park, who lives two completely different lifestyles.
Being a future educator I would not recommend this book to anyone in middle or elementary school due to the high profanity. I do believe a high school student would love this book because of the plot, and numerous things a reader could relate to. Many reader may be able to relate to being a bully or being bullied, feeling awkward around their crush, or maybe even experiencing some of the similar problems the characters faced. I found myself relating to many things throughout the book. Such as memorizing my first crush phone number, and worrying about rather or not my friends would approve of him. I remember being on my cell phone having late night talks, trying not to get caught by my mom.
My first impressions of Eleanor and Park was the storyline was very interesting, drawing me in to read more and more. Last thing I knew I was lost in the book, and it was 1 AM way past my bed, since I usually am asleep by 11 PM. I did find it shocking how boom in chapter one on page five the F bomb was already dropped. I loved how Eleanor managed to go to a new school, and didn't feel the need to impress anyone or go out of her way to try and fit in with the cool kids. Eleanor seemed to be accepting of who she was and just embraced it, which is why I think Park eventually found her more, and more attractive.
As of now I'm only on page 114, but I'm sure one you get started on this book you will find it hard to set it back down. Can't wait to finish the book, and write more of my thoughts and impression!
